FIFTIETH BOOK CLUB--FREE STUFF!!!!

This past week, I was a guest author at Harleysville Books. Shelly and Stef put together a fun evening with dinner, wine, a copy of CHOSEN and lots of great discussion--they were sweeping the floors around us when the last of the fifty women (and one brave guy!) finally left. I've said it before and I'll say it again--I love book clubs and the insights and questions and conversations that come up.

But the important thing is, this was my 49th visit to a book club to talk about CHOSEN, which means that the next book club to sign up is lucky number 50! This seems worth doing some cool kind of promotion as promised in my earlier post.

So here it is:

Be the very next book club to sign up to read CHOSEN and you will win:

1) signed paperback copies of the novel for your members (up to 12)

2) a visit from the author on the night of your book club (local groups will be in person, other by SKYPE)

3) a swag bag full of books from great authors including Julianna Baggott/Bridget AsherMelissa SenateTherese FowlerJuliette Fay, Erin Blakemore and MORE!

The next person to email me and put it on the calendar wins!

FAVORITES ON FRIDAY--FWEE STUFF

Nine years and about three moves ago, we were downsizing from a huge rambling rental house to essentially one bedroom. Not a one bedroom; one bedroom. In anticipation of a massive garage sale, I invited my two nieces, about 5 and 6 years old to come pick through my knick-knacks, jewelry and make up.

Freya, the older of the two agonized over her lone choice, putting back, picking up, debating, but Sonja was clutching greatmy free-spirited, fwee-lovin' niece Sonja circa 2001 gobs of objects to her chest, mardi gras beads oozing out from between her fingers, barely pausing to look at it. When her big sister scolded her, Sonja said in the cutest of preschool voices, "But, but, Fweya, it's fwee!"

Bless her heart, who doesn't love FWEE STUFF? To this end, and in honor of the upcoming paperback release of CHOSEN this fall, I am putting together a little give-away to celebrate book clubs, full of oodles of swag.

FIFTIETH BOOK CLUB PRIZE PACK

Here's how it works:

1. Sign your book club up to read CHOSEN in the coming year, (paperback avail Nov '11)
