This past week, I was a guest author at Harleysville Books. Shelly and Stef put together a fun evening with dinner, wine, a copy of CHOSEN and lots of great discussion--they were sweeping the floors around us when the last of the fifty women (and one brave guy!) finally left. I've said it before and I'll say it again--I love book clubs and the insights and questions and conversations that come up.

But the important thing is, this was my 49th visit to a book club to talk about CHOSEN, which means that the next book club to sign up is lucky number 50! This seems worth doing some cool kind of promotion as promised in my earlier post.

So here it is:

Be the very next book club to sign up to read CHOSEN and you will win:

1) signed paperback copies of the novel for your members (up to 12)

2) a visit from the author on the night of your book club (local groups will be in person, other by SKYPE)

3) a swag bag full of books from great authors including Julianna Baggott/Bridget AsherMelissa SenateTherese FowlerJuliette Fay, Erin Blakemore and MORE!

The next person to email me and put it on the calendar wins!

Happy Paperback Pub Day for Chosen! CONTEST

In honor of this exciting day and all the good things coming up for CHOSEN, including a massive blog tour, translation into foreign languages, Target endcaps, and so on, I am hosting a little give-away to give back to readers:

1. Buy CHOSEN in paperback (on-sale date Nov 8)

2. Send me proof of purchase-- you can forward me your online receipt or snap a photo of it and email it, however you like to: chandrahoffman @ mac (dot) com

3. Include the mailing address of the friend of your choice plus any special message

3. I will send a second free signed/inscribed copy to your friend (first five win)

Nine years and about three moves ago, we were downsizing from a huge rambling rental house to essentially one bedroom. Not a one bedroom; one bedroom. In anticipation of a massive garage sale, I invited my two nieces, about 5 and 6 years old to come pick through my knick-knacks, jewelry and make up.

Freya, the older of the two agonized over her lone choice, putting back, picking up, debating, but Sonja was clutching greatmy free-spirited, fwee-lovin' niece Sonja circa 2001 gobs of objects to her chest, mardi gras beads oozing out from between her fingers, barely pausing to look at it. When her big sister scolded her, Sonja said in the cutest of preschool voices, "But, but, Fweya, it's fwee!"

Bless her heart, who doesn't love FWEE STUFF? To this end, and in honor of the upcoming paperback release of CHOSEN this fall, I am putting together a little give-away to celebrate book clubs, full of oodles of swag.

Here's how it works:

1. Sign your book club up to read CHOSEN in the coming year, (paperback avail Nov '11)

2. Send me an email letting me know. You are immediately eligible for the give-away

The FIFTIETH BOOK CLUB to sign up gets a whole lotta FWEE: Free signed copies of CHOSEN for your members, (up to twelve copies), an appearance  from the author, and an amazing swag bag for the book club coordinator featuring amazing books from the likes of Julianna Baggott/Bridget Asher, Melissa Senate, Therese Fowler, Juliette Fay, Erin Blakemore and MORE!

Subscribe to this blog for upcoming announcements. If you already hosted me, tell your friends in other book clubs--the faster we get to 50, the sooner I draw the iPod. If you haven't hosted me yet, sign up now! Spread the word on facebook, tweet it, let your book club friends know and be a part of the fabulous fun prizes and fwee books!

Final CHOSEN give-away for 2010!

Books make a great holiday present, especially one you have read and loved, even better if it is personalized and signed.

So here it is:

Send me the link to the review and you automatically win one of five free, signed and personalized hardcover copies of the novel.

First five entries win. Go!

If you read CHOSEN and write a review for a book site like Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, Borders etc and Facebook or email me the link you will be entered to win one free signed hardcover copy of the book to share with a friend!

Tomorrow (Oct 15) at midnight is the deadline.

Good luck!
